Hawks hit Katherine

While most of the team were down south soaking up Tasmanian spirit over the last week, a small group of Hawks flew north to NT for another instalment of Australia Post AFL community camp.

Jonathon Ceglar, Dan Howe, Jonathan O'Rourke and Kaiden Brand headed to Darwin on Wednesday, before making the trek down south to the remote town of Katherine.

Embracing the typical scorching weather, the boys spent time exploring the beautiful NT outback.

They also took the opportunity to meet with local Big River Hawks Football Club, who host both men and women's AFL teams, to offer support and advice to the young players. Hawthorn Football Club has supported the Big River Hawks since its inaugral season in 2010. To play in the team, all players must be either attending school, in work, or training to be eligible for selection each week.

The boys also visited Katherine High School for a clinic, and attended Life Ed's 30th birthday celebration with over 100 kids from Katherine and the surrounding communities.
