Worawa students paint mural for cultural gift exchange

As part of Hawthorn Football Club's Sir Doug Nicholls Indigenous Round activities, a cultural gift exchange between Hawthorn and Sydney is to occur before the coin is tossed at their Round 10 clash at the SCG.

Worawa Aboriginal College students, Shantelle McCormick, Ava Miller Porter and Jelika Carlton collaborated to paint the mural which Shaun Burgoyne will present to Lance Franklin as a gift from the Hawks.

The painting depicts Bunjil, Spirit Creator of the Kulin Nation on which the Hawks are situated, as he watches over them on Gadigal land, the home of the Swans.
